The Houston Texans had acquired Demaryius Thomas in a trade with the Denver Broncos last October, and he appeared in seven games for Houston before tearing his left Achilles in a Week 16 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. In 15 games split between the two clubs, he posted 59 receptions for 677 yards and five touchdowns. The 6-foot-3, 229-pounder originally entered the NFL as a first-round draft pick (22nd overall) by Denver in the 2010 NFL Draft out of Georgia Tech.

Thomas recently pleaded guilty to a careless driving charge in connection to a February vehicle crash, according to the Houston Chronicle.
