iOS 13 to Reportedly Include Dark Mode, Multitasking Improvements

iOS 13 may include system-wide dark mode and undo gesture

Apple will finally be debuting a system-wide Dark mode as a part of iOS 13.

People familiar with upcoming iOS development has revealed exclusive details about the new iOS 13 to 9to5Mac. Dark mode cuts down the glare from your phone for use in low light situations, so you can use the Messenger features you love no matter when or where you are.

Undoubtedly there are even more new features to come in iOS 13.

Mobile and Sprint Merger in Trouble From Antitrust Officials
Department of Justice is unlikely to approve the planned merger between T-Mobile and Sprint as it's now structured. DOJ staff have reportedly told T-Mobile and Sprint that their merger is unlikely to be approved as it now stands.

In addition, the report says that there will be improved multitasking on the iPad with iOS 13, including support for multiple windows and stackable cards in apps. On AMOLED screens there is of course also a power saving versus using white screens. These sheets can further be adjusted with new drag gestures, which further help in stacking up cards together on the iPad as well. This feature was previously introduced on macOS Mojave last summer.

The clunky iOS undo function, which until now has involved shaking the device, may be usurped by a gesture. The new Undo gesture will reportedly be coming to the iPad, and the gesture area will be activated on the keyboard itself wherein the three-finger gestures will enable the undo and redo actions. Mails found in the app can be categorized via specific sections such as marketing, purchases, travel, and even "not important" among others. This sounds similar to the Split View apps on the Mac.

Some of Apple's homegrown apps will be getting a much-needed upgrade, too; in iOS 13, Safari will automatically ask for a desktop version of websites when necessary, preventing a common issue where websites will render their iPhone version, while Mail will be getting a Gmail-style makeover that allows users to organise messages into categories and add messages to a "read later" queue.
