The Season 8 premiere of "Game of Thrones" drew a record 17.4 million USA television viewers, cable channel HBO said on Monday.

"Yesterday accounts for largest night of streaming activity ever for HBO", the statement read, adding that HBO Now numbers were apparently nearly twice what last year's Season 7 premiere yielded.

First off, Jon (and everyone else, for that matter) has spent his whole life thinking he was the bastard son of Ned Stark, so it would, naturally, take some time to really ingest the fact that that was a lie and that the truth was far stranger than he'd thought. I personally didn't look at my Twitter feed once during the premiere. I suppose that since it's the final season all gloves are off?
