Mike Augello - Boston to step up physical play in Game 2; Leafs vs. Bruins

Leafs' Kadri could face suspension for high hit

Raucous, lively; the crowd was spurred on by recently retired New England Patriots great Rob Gronkowski, who was an honorary flag captain before the game and helped get the Bruins faithful riled up. The Maple Leafs went on to lose that series in seven games. "You guys can go ahead and speculate".

"We understand that they're going to be pretty desperate".

"We didn't play to our identity in Game 1". We still want to dress our best lineup. We feel good about the way we played in Game 1.

The NHL has offered Kadri an in-person hearing with the department of player safety, which may indicate a lengthy suspension.

That goal, Kadri's third in 19 playoff games, ended Tuukka Rask's shutout and began a short rally for Toronto, which abruptly ended about three minutes later.

Nazem Kadri, who could be facing another suspension after crosschecking Jake DeBrusk in the head late in the third following a three-game ban in last spring's series against the Bruins, replied for Toronto.

UMass hockey’s Cale Makar signs entry-level contract with Colorado Avalanche
He could play as soon as Monday, when the Avs will host the Flames in Game 3 of their opening round series. Colorado selected the native of Calgary with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.

After the hit on Wingels in last year's playoffs, Kadri spoke to reporters and defended the play.

When Jake DeBrusk stopped Patrick Marleau's rush attack with a strong shoulder hit into the boards, Kadri retaliated with a cross-check to DeBrusk's face.

Patrice Bergeron scored during the Kadri major.

"It's up to the league to decide, to be honest. He could not be sick anymore, but if it's a 24-, 36-, 48-hour thing and he looks good and he's flying around, then I guess we'd consider him more strongly to put him in". They can match the Columbus Blue Jackets and St. Louis Blues as road teams up 2-0. "I mean that's his prerogative when you get hit".

Every Leafs line had trouble with every Bruins group they saw.

Inserted into the lineup after getting healthy scratched for Game 1, veteran winger David Backes was first to a loose puck behind Toronto's net after a Nikita Zaitsev turnover before feeding Coyle in front to bury a shot past Andersen at 4:44.

Melbourne nightclub shooting leaves two people in critical condition
Three officers had searched the drains outside the entrance to the club, pulling up the grate to photograph the area below. The footpath on Chapel St has just been closed due to trail of blood up to where one of the victims was found.

The pair was minus-3 on the night, playing befuddled hockey so soon after being seamless.

"But obviously the refs had their whistle up their ass or they were too f-ing slow and were two lines behind the play, so they didn't see it so they couldn't have called it".

"The only problem with Kadri's hit [on DeBrusk] is he didn't take the top f-ing row of DeBrusk's teeth out", Avery said.

To the surprise of some, Kadri returned for the third period.

You can say the opposite happened in Game 2. He had company, as none of his teammates performed to the level they did on Thursday.

What are your thoughts on Game 2? He might not have a choice if Kadri is suspended. "We've got to be ready". "It's our turn to come out with a push". "We're looking to accomplish that".
