The accused, who also include chief executives, financiers, a winemaker and fashion designer, allegedly cheated in admissions tests or arranged for bribes to get their children into prestigious schools including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California, federal prosecutors said. Loughlin was expected to appear in federal court on conspiracy charges Wednesday afternoon.

Huffman is scheduled to appear in federal court in Boston on Friday, March 29.

Loughlin is accused of paying Singer $500,000 to help cheat her daughters' way into the University of Southern California (USC) by bribing rowing coaches at the school to pretend the girls were gifted rowers. Dozens, including Huffman, the Emmy-winning star of ABC's "Desperate Housewives", were arrested by midday Tuesday.

Following her indictment on Tuesday, she was released on a $250,000 bond and was ordered to surrender her passport.

"We're not talking about donating a building so a school is more likely to take your son or daughter, we're talking about deception or fraud", Lelling said.

Federal court records unsealed Tuesday in Boston name 50 people who have been allegedly indicted as part of the nationwide scheme, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in MA.
