The seven-months-pregnant duchess was pictured boarding a private jet in NY on Wednesday night, shortly after she was seen leaving her swanky Upper East Side hotel where she attended a lavish baby shower thrown for her by Amal, 41, and Serena, 37.

Meghan's friends celebrated the baby shower in what is reportedly the most expensive hotel room in the U.S. - the Penthouse Suite in the five-star Mark Hotel, which costs a reported $75,000 (£57,000) per night.

The party however, is reportedly small.

The suite is the largest penthouse in the United States, measuring in at 10,000 square feet.

Gifts were placed in a decorated crib as they entered the bash and guests noshed on cuisine by Michelin star Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. There was also reportedly a harpist at the soiree.

An unexpected guest, Gayle King, made an appearance at the event.

But the president could have had another wireless company in mind when he tweeted his support for 5G. Justice Department indicted Huawei in January, accusing the company of industrial espionage.

"A good time was had by all. I am pretty sure [Princess] Diana didn't have one, as they were not so fashionable then, but I think Fergie did and the Countess of Wessex".

King added: "I don't know what everybody got..."

"Americans love baby showers", Victoria wrote in October.

In a baby shower fit for a duchess we hope that the royal's choice of venue is a nod to what we hope is a potential secret moniker. "They had flower arranging, they brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers".

"She's very kind, she's very generous and a really sweet person".

"I thought that was a very sweet thing".

Were she to die before him, the designer also planned to scatter the ashes of his beloved cat, Choupette , in the same area. Speaking in April past year in an interview which has surfaced since his death, he said: "There will be no burial".

But some commentators have suggested the royal mum-to-be should have been a little more discreet rather than having such a showy baby shower. "Let's not lose sight of that", King said.

"I won this award back in 2002 with my besties, Kelly and Michelle", she wrote, referring to her fellow Destiny's Child members.

It looks like Markle's glam squad was also there - hairstylist Serge Normant and makeup artist Daniel Martin were spotted outside the hotel.

They have been gifted to pediatric cancer patients staying at the Ronald McDonald House Charities® of NY, which Repeat Roses chose as they knew the mothers there would appreciate the kind gesture from the royal mother-to-be.

According to Toomey, the pair left the airport just after midnight, returning around 10 a.m. on Thursday.
