But the two parties reached a mutual decision that it was best for Abrines not to try balancing his personal matter with playing professional basketball.

"He's still battling through some things and wasn't able to be here tonight", coach Billy Donovan said February 5 after Abrines was included on the active roster, but not at the game.

The Thunder part ways with Abrines after the latter spent the three seasons on the team.
