The Dallas Mavericks are sending Harrison Barnes to the Kings, as The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported on Wednesday night, in exchange for Justin Jackson and Zach Randolph, as The Athletic's Sam Amick confirmed.

Doncic, just 3 of 16 from the floor with under four minutes to play, came up with a nifty finish at the rim and drew the foul for a three-point play and then followed up with a 3-pointer to put the Mavs ahead for good, 94-88, in a game that wasn't pretty but was mostly close throughout.

The decision surprised Mavericks veteran Dirk Nowitzki. "He's obviously got bonds with some of these players here for life, and that's the kind of guy that he is".

He was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel before being taken to Beaumont Hospital. The shooting happened at Marigold Crescent in Darndale at around 6.30am.

Dallas will be getting a couple of players back for Barnes, though the trade was mostly made to free up cap space for this summer, when the Mavericks will be pursuing top free agents.

Even LeBron James weighed in on the drama and commented on how there is some hypocrisy in the National Basketball Association as players are called out for requesting trades but the GM's get no flack for cutting a guy mid-game.

"I am going to miss him an terrible lot", Carlisle said. Barnes remained on the bench to cheer on the Mavs for the rest of the contest. He is averaging 6.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game this season for Sacramento.

"I don't know too much about Harrison", Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein told reporters Wednesday night. They project to have $30 million in room for 2019-20, and that number could increase to $40 million if Dwight Powell opts out of his contract. Porzingis, Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee and Trey Burke is a nice haul for Dallas in place of Dennis Smith Jr., Wesley Matthews and DeAndre Jordan.
