Wicked is defying gravity - and years of false starts - with an official release date.

Priyanka Chopra gets wax statue at Madame Tussauds in NY
Nick and Priyanka's fans thought he was trolling his wife by sharing his wax figure right after Priyanka shared hers. Woah, can't get better than this, right? Then the doors opened and I saw [Nick] and I can not forget that moment'.

Universal previous year pulled Wicked off its proposed 2020 release date and replaced it with Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper's curious Cats adaptation, starring Taylor Swift.

Stephen Schwartz, who composed the music for the original "Wicked" musical, and screenwriter Winnie Holsman will be adapting the story to the big screen. It had originally been on the schedule for this December. The new release date will put Wicked against Avatar 3, an untitled Disney live-action film, and an untitled Warner Bros. animated feature on the five-day Christmas weekend. Wicked.
