The intent behind these events is to encourage workers and employers to speak up about mental health issues and to educate them that there are tools available to help.

Wednesday marked the ninth annual "Bell Let's Talk" day, an occasion when millions of people - including celebrities and professional athletes - use social media to share awareness about mental health.

The initiative by Bell Canada donates five cents for every interaction with the hashtag, view of their videos on social media, and mention in text conversations to mental health services and support programs. The Bell Let's Talk website has a lot useful resources.
