Xiaomi's new Redmi Note 7 is significantly cheaper than other phones with a 48-megapixel camera

Redmi Note 7 debuts with 48 MP camera, amazing price tag - news

Putting a full stop on the rumour mill, Xiaomi has finally launched the Redmi Note 7 as the first smartphone under its new Redmi sub-brand in China. Nearly as if part of the reason they've spun off Redmi is to help differentiate between the Redmi Note 7 and Xiaomi Note 7 Pro. The phone comes with an 18-month warranty, which Redmi claims is "the first smartphone in the Chinese mainland" to have a warranty of that length, "demonstrating Xiaomi's confidence in its product quality".

The Redmi Note 7 spans 6.3-inch with a water drop notch, and an aspect ratio configured at 19:5:9 for really thin bezels. Besides, it's also covered with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 which adds a layer of protection against scratches. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor with Adreno 512 GPU. The 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant of the Redmi Y2 can now be bought for Rs 10,999. Internal storage is expandable up to 256GB with external MicroSD card.

Rear camera: On the rear panel, the Redmi Note 7 includes a primary camera of 48MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture, while the secondary camera comes with a 5MP sensor for capturing depth shots. We expect the same trend to follow with Redmi Note 7 too. A fingerprint sensor is also seen, which means that this phone will not be shipping with an in-display fingerprint reader. There is a waterdrop notch only on the display, no other sensors or speakers are placed on the front side of the phone.

-A phone so cheap with 48MP camera is a big deal. But on the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the scenario gets different. The rear camera is capable of up to 48 MP pictures, using a Samsung-made sensor. Redmi's logo is easily visible on the back of the device, and there are two cameras included on the back, and those two cameras protrude quite a bit in the provided images, actually, which is not all that surprising considering we're looking at a 48-megapixel sensor here, and the phone will be quite thin. The budget Redmi 6 series is also a popular lineup in India which was launched back in September 2018 and it comprises of Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro. It is available in Blue, Twilight Gold and Black color options and pre-orders are already up with availability expected on January 15th.

On that note - yes, yes indeed, there is also a 3.5mm headphone jack in the mix. 12,459 and 6GB RAM is priced at 1399 Yuan which is approx. As always, Xiaomi will bring the Redmi Note 7 to other markets soon after it launches in China.
