Trump to avoid more questions from Mueller

The New York Times reported that the FBI launched the previously undisclosed counterintelligence investigation to determine whether Trump posed a national security threat, at the same time that it opened a criminal probe into possible obstruction of justice by the president.

Figluizzi and AM Joy host Joy Reid referenced a report from the New York Times, published on Friday, which revealed that the FBI began the counterintelligence investigation just days after former FBI director James Comey was sacked.

The secretary refuted the idea.

The investigation was one part criminal, into possible obstruction of justice, and one part counterintelligence, looking into possible national security concerns, the Times reports.

The president, however, did feel the story was worthy of a response when he took to Twitter Saturday morning to express his outrage about it.

Flybe sold for £2.2m in cut-price deal
Under the plans, the airline will be combined with Stobart Air in a joint venture called Connect Airways. This will be followed by a further £80 investment in future months.

The White House said in a statement that the notion that Trump was in bed with Russian Federation makes little sense, given the administration's hardline policies directed at Moscow.

The FBI's hostility toward Donald Trump during the Obama administration has come out in new testimony from Lisa Page, the former bureau lawyer who had an affair with investigative partner Peter Strzok.

President Trump took aim at his "Russiagate" critics on Saturday, tweeting that he has been "FAR tougher on Russia" than his predecessors, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, but adding that he expects to see "good relations" between the United States and Russian Federation "someday".

Asked if he knew about the investigation, the former Central Intelligence Agency director did not offer a direct answer.

At the same time, & as I have often said, getting along with Russian Federation is a good thing, not a bad thing.

He hacked Southee for a four first ball before carting a four and a six in the second over to set Sri Lanka's innings rolling. The best thing about New Zealand has been that most of their players have chipped in and it has been a true team effort.

In response to the events, according to the Times, the FBI began investigating whether Trump was a secret Russian agent. Robert Mueller took over the investigation when he was appointed special counsel.

The Mueller investigation is set to continue to cast a cloud over the White House: a judge has given an extension to the secret grand jury empanelled in the probe, extending its original 18-month mandate. The Times pinpoints two specific instances that jump-started the inquiry: a letter Trump penned to Comey (and never sent) that mentioned the FBI's investigation into Russian Federation, as well as an NBC News interview days after Comey's firing in which Trump seemed to suggest he fired Comey over the Russian Federation probe.

It is known the two despised President Trump.

The counterintelligence part sought to establish whether Mr Trump was knowingly aiding the Kremlin against America's interests, or "had unwittingly fallen under Moscow's influence".

Mr Trump's lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, told the Times that he had no knowledge of the inquiry.
