US Senator Bernie Sanders is apologising to women who've shared experiences of harassment by male supervisors while working on his 2016 presidential campaign.
"It now appears that as part of our campaign there were some women who were harassed or mistreated", Sanders wrote in a message he tweeted out Thursday afternoon to his almost 9 million followers.
In a statement sent to VTDigger before Sanders had issued his apology, the senator's primary campaign committee, Friends of Bernie Sanders, said Becker's alleged conduct is "deplorable and fundamentally unacceptable".

"Then he moved his hands to her head and forcibly kissed her, putting his tongue in her mouth as he held her, the woman and other sources said".
But Sanders has refused to take action, she said.
