Senior White House aides and allies are quietly preparing for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's possible departure from the Supreme Court in the near future; setting the stage for a potential brutal confirmation battle should she retire.

"I said I will do this job as long as I can do it full steam", Ginsburg said last month during an interview following a New York City screening of "On the Basis of Sex", a feature film about her years as a young lawyer.

The White House is even working on a short-list of possible nominees to replace Ginsburg, who broke her 25-year streak when she began missing oral arguments on Monday.

Tests revealed that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has no additional cancer following her surgery in December, and no further treatment is needed, the Supreme Court announced Friday.

The 16-year-old defender is said to have told Villarreal chiefs that he won't be signing first pro deal with them and looks set for Old Trafford move.

Furthermore, doctors have determined that Justice Ginsburg has no remaining signs of cancer.

Ginsburg, the eldest justice on the court, will turn 86 in March. The pulmonary lobectomy was performed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in NY. "Both nodules removed during surgery were found to be malignant on initial pathology evaluation".

A survivor of two prior cancer surgeries, in 1999 and 2009, Ginsburg had made it a point of pride that she missed no oral arguments during those episodes. 'I wouldn't say she's exactly on my side, but I wish her well, I hope she gets better, and I hope she serves on the Supreme Court for many years'.

"But should she not return for the February 19 public sessions, there will likely be renewed concern for the liberal justice's future", reports Fox.

The justices of the US Supreme Court gather for a formal group portrait to include the new Associate Justice, top row, far right, at the Supreme Court Building in Washington, Friday, Nov. 30, 2018.

"The dissent collar has become synonymous with Ginsburg's way of showing the public how she feels about a decision on the bench", the report continued. The justices will next be on the bench on February 19, when they are due to hear a contentious case arising from President Donald Trump's administration's decision to include a citizenship question in the 2020 census.
