MI hires Alabama assistant Josh Gattis as new OC

It looks like Jim Harbaugh got to him first. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh previously said assistant head coach Pep Hamilton was calling plays late in the season.

Gattis was formerly a safety who played for Wake Forest before getting drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It bears mention that Locksley, not Gattis, held that role at Alabama.

Chandler Parsons and Grizzlies agree on separation
The Memphis Hustle is the G League affiliate of the Grizzlies. "Chandler subsequently chose to continue his rehab in Los Angeles". The team still believes Parsons will have value as an expiring contract, even if it takes into the offseason to make a deal.

Gattis joined Nick Saban's coaching staff in January 2018 as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. He's had success in this capacity at every stop.

In a statement released by Michigan Thursday afternoon, Harbaugh said, "The offense and passing games under Josh's direction have achieved at a very high level throughout his coaching career".

The Wolverines were just outside the top 20 in scoring offense in 2018 and averaged 6.1 yards per play. "Josh will provide leadership to our offense while being a great mentor to our student-athletes and an outstanding addition to our coaching staff". Gattis and Locksley shared offensive coordinator duties with the Crimson Tide in 2018. The Wolverines also bring in four-star running back Zach Charbonnet and return most of their offensive line. That offense was hit-or-miss this season at times, and struggled against big-time competition.

Jose Mourinho received an absolutely massive pay-off after Man United sacking
But Mourinho insists he will not say anything negative about United's players in the final stages of his reign at Old Trafford. "Who would not like to have Mourinho? ".

Harbaugh has led MI to three 10-win seasons in four years in Ann Arbor, but hasn't yet gotten over the hump against Ohio State.

It appears he's banking on Gattis to change that. MI did lose two assistants in this past week, with former defensive line coach Greg Mattison and linebackers coach Al Washington both joining Ryan Day's new staff at Ohio State. "I am deeply humbled by the opportunity to serve as your Offensive Coordinator". MI scored just 17 points in a Week 1 loss to Notre Dame and 15 points in a Peach Bowl loss to Florida.

With Gattis on staff, the Crimson Tide posted the best offensive season in program history 522 yards per game and 45.6 points per game.

Kliff Kingsbury said he would take Kyler Murray with No. 1 pick
Arizona still sees him as a franchise cornerstone and brought in QB whisperer Kingsbury to unlock his potential. I've already said the Cardinals should take Murray with the first pick now that Kingsbury is running the show.
