An unnamed Chinese team has reportedly submitted a £35million for Arnautovic, with West Ham believed to have rejected the offer.
"He is not for sale", West Ham said in a statement. It is close to double what they paid for him.
The 29-year-old, has scored seven Premier League goals this season. He took every award at the club; best player, signing of the season and the players' award.
It was believed that West Ham were ready to offer the Catalans giants £20 million for the services of the Spain worldwide, but a source inside the London Stadium poured scorn on that notion.
"I think they can expect a lot from him because he is a top player, the way he continues having some minutes, and is used to playing 90 minutes, he will be a top player in this club", added Pellegrini. He wants to go to a new market and challenge for titles. It is his great desire that West Ham accept the offer from China.

Harbaugh has led MI to three 10-win seasons in four years in Ann Arbor, but hasn't yet gotten over the hump against Ohio State. Gattis joined Nick Saban's coaching staff in January 2018 as the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach.
It is understood West Ham will not consider selling him this month because of the difficulties they may face in replacing him.
Marko is professional and is preparing himself for the Arsenal game.
Also key for West Ham would be whether they can find a suitable replacement. He hopes the fans can respect his wishes.
While some Hammers seem adamant that Arnautovic won't leave during the January transfer window, a plethora of fans have fired into the Austrian amidst the transfers rumours, and here's a flavour of what some of the fans have said about these recent goings-on and many have likened this situation to that of the Dimitri Payet saga.
Will be hard to replace but i trust Pellegrini to do it. [tomster36]This whole thing about Arnautovic is annoying!
Steelers president Art Rooney II leaves option of trading Antonio Brown open
It certainly sounds like the Steelers are open for business or, at the very least, open to the idea of being open for business. We all know there have been problems with Brown's attitude and his relationship with the team over the last two seasons.
Arnautovic praying he gets to move to China.
According to the Daily Star, as cited on HITC, the Hammers could launch a January move to sign the Belgian, with Perez attracting interest from elsewhere.
"If it was £50m between Wilson or Arnautovic I would go with Marko", he told The Debate on Sky Sports.
"I want to keep him, of course, but you never know what might happen in the future".
"His agent has been making noises about him leaving as well and Chelsea could probably get him for £40m because of his age".
