Portuguese soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo has denied new accusations of drastic emotional abuse levelled against him by Celebrity Big Brother alum Jasmine Lennard.

The 35-year-old American claims Ronaldo anally raped her while the two were at a Las Vegas hotel room almost a decade ago.

The Las Vegas Police Department reopened its investigation in early October, with Thursday's developments the first significant ones that have appeared to move the case forward.

Unlike other types of hepatitis, it doesn't cause long-term liver damage and doesn't become chronic, the Mayo Clinic adds. Consumers are urged not to eat and immediately throw away any Bauer's Candies Chocolate or Caramel Modjeskas.

Investigators in Las Vegas found DNA on Mayorga's dress belonging to someone else, the law enforcement official confirmed to the newspaper. The warrant would instruct Italian authorities to deliver the sample to Las Vegas and allow local police to determine whether the DNA in question is Ronaldo's.

According to the lawsuit filed by Mayorga, after the pair met at a night club Ronaldo invited the alleged victim and a friend back to his penthouse suite.

Ronaldo, for his part, has "firmly" denied the allegations, claiming his encounter with Mayorga was consensual. 5/7 minutes. She said that she didn't want to, but she made herself available.

Lennard, 33, called the footballer "a psychopath" in now-deleted tweets, in which she pledged to assist the woman who has accused Ronaldo of rape.

Der Spiegel said that in 2010, she reportedly reached an out-of-court settlement with Ronaldo involving a $375,000 (£288,000) payment for agreeing never to go public with the allegations. Lennard has since been in contact with Mayorga's team and will be looking to share her evidence with them. Mayorga shared her story with German publication Der Spiegel, which sparked a strong denial from Ronaldo's camp and a threat to sue the publication, calling rape an "abominable crime". She says she was left traumatised, and suffering from post-traumatic stress, "major depression" and suicidal thoughts.
