Baby weighs nearly 15 pounds at birth, breaking hospital record

A woman has broken a record by giving birth to a 6.4kg baby.

Speaking to USA Today, a spokesperson for Texas Health resources said that Ali was the heaviest baby born ever born at the hospital, measuring 21 inches in height.

The record-breaking kid's mum had expected him to be larger than average - her two-year-old daughter weighed around 10lbs when she was born - but she didn't think he would be this big.

But despite being the largest baby ever delivered at the hospital in Arlington, Ali is some way from being the biggest ever.

Medlock said her children were especially a blessing since doctors told her having children would be hard since she has severe polycystic ovarian syndrome.
