Republican Mark Harris ran against Democrat Dan McCready in North Carolina. According to the state Elections Board website, Harris received 73,752 absentee votes, one-stop and mail-in, and McCready received a total of 81,084.

"We are not ready to call for a new election, yet, until the NCSBE completes the investigation or produces enough evidence that the votes/ballots in question would have changed the result or a substantial likelihood thereof", N.C. Republican Party Chairman Robin Hayes wrote in a statement. And the fact that Harris managed to win a whopping 96% of all Bladen County absentee ballots that actually made it to election officials is a big red flag, too.

The North Carolina Board of Elections and Ethics Enforcement is looking into the irregularities in Bladen and Robeson counties, neighboring rural jurisdictions near the SC border, where 40 percent and 62 percent of absentee ballots, respectively, weren't returned.

Strik also requested that UNIFIL will ensure the neutralization of the attack tunnel on its Lebanese side. The tunnel originated under a residential building in the southern Lebanese village of Ramieh.

"What we know is the people down in Bladen County are scoundrels. Unless new evidence somehow clears the clouds hanging over this election, the Board of Elections should toss out the 9th District results". Why, for instance, did a lopsided share of absentee ballots that were counted favor Mr. Harris, while an overwhelming amount of ballots requested but never returned or counted came from areas likely to favor McCready?

The Wake County district attorney's office in Raleigh and the State Bureau of Investigation are also conducting probes, Wake County District Attorney Lorrin Freeman told The Post.

Harris may not be the only Republican to have benefited from Dowless's work, either.

Drew Griffin also reported that Woodhouse will support holding an entirely new election if it turns out that the allegations of election fraud are in fact true.

Harris, the Republican candidate, won 61 percent of the mail-in ballots that were turned in. Dowless, moreover, may have been running schemes like this for years, financed partially by contributions from the Bladen County Republican Party.

Amid these reports, North Carolina's former Republican governor, Pat McCrory, told WSOC-TV on Wednesday that he'd raised the alarm about Bladen County's voting irregularities in 2016. "I think we have to let the board of elections come show their hand if they can show that this conceivably could have flipped the race in that neighborhood, we will absolutely support a new election".

Allegations of fraud in November's general election have now put the outcome of the 9th Congressional District race in limbo. And it isn't getting any neater as time goes on.

The Republicans want Gov. Roy Cooper, a Democrat, to appoints an independent bipartisan task force to investigate the fraud allegations. That's one reason the GOP would be better off if the state held a new election for NC-09 and resolved the defects on their own.
