During an ultra-rare press conference following Tuesday's midterm election, Trump escalated his ongoing war of words with CNN's Jim Acosta.

CNN's Jim Acosta took Trump to task, grilling the president on a recent campaign ad depicting a thousands-strong "caravan" of Central American migrants heading for the U.S. border as an "invasion".

"CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them", Trump said to Acosta. "You are not the best".

When Acosta tried to ask further questions, Trump became angry, demanding that the reporter sit down and give up the microphone.

He's had them for a number of years and also been involved in these games for a number of years. Of course, McClean's stance on not wearing a poppy has been known for years.

TRUMP: I'm not concerned about anything with the Russian investigation because it's a hoax. You are a rude, bad person. "You shouldn't be working for CNN", he said. You're a very rude person.

"The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is disgusting", he said. "You shouldn't treat people that way".

"I don't even know where to start with that", Dana Bash said of Trump's response to Alcindor.

"You are the enemy of the people", the president added. Acosta refused. Trump backed away from his podium and briefly paced the stage. You and I have a difference of opinion.

We have some really interesting, creative ideas. "Oh yeah we are [doing a world tour]", she said. Geri then teased that there might be more tour dates "if Mel B behaves herself".

A short time later, Trump attacked PBS NewsHour correspondent Yamiche Alcindor ‏for asking a legitimate question about whether or he was emboldening white supremacists by referring to himself as a "nationalist" on the campaign trail.

But they lost their majority in the House, a setback for Trump after a campaign that became a referendum on his leadership.

CNN's Jim Acosta stood defiantly on the front row, badgering the president over and over about the caravan and the Russian Federation election, refusing to release the microphone, standing right in front of the president in a shocking confrontation.

"Thank you for telling me that, I appreciate that", Trump responded dryly. While heading into the midterms, Trump touted the typically favorable and highly questionable Rasmussen poll which showed a 40 percent approval rating among black respondents.
