History, Trump and partisan bitterness collide in Georgia

The bitter campaign for Georgia governor reaches its climax Tuesday as voters choose between Republican Brian Kemp and Democrat Stacey Abrams in a contest both rivals frame as a battle for the soul of the state.

Though the release offered few details, the hacking allegation reportedly hinges on an email sent by an election security whistleblower to a volunteer for the state Democratic Party's voter protection hotline, warning that Georgia's election websites have major security vulnerabilities.

"This is the magical negro, Oprah Winfrey, asking you to make my fellow negress, Stacey Abrams, the governor of Georgia", a voice impersonating Winfrey says in the call.

Last week Oprah shared clips of her and her team canvassing homes in Georgia on Thursday to urge residents to get out and vote for Democratic Abrams.

Girl, 10, charged over baby death after 'stamping on head at daycare'
Prosecutors are considering 13 charges against Treu, including four counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The hit-and-run suspect later admitted to law enforcement that he had been huffing chemicals before the deadly crash.

Stacey Abrams: "Once again, for the third time, he has put our voters at risk, and he has refused to take responsibility".

State Democratic Party officials quickly denied the charge, accusing Kemp of abusing power just two days before midterm elections. Rebecca DeHart, executive director of Georgia's Democratic Party, said, "To be very clear, Brian Kemp's scurrilous claims are 100 percent false..." In 2016, he accused the Department of Homeland Security of an "unsuccessful attempt to penetrate the Georgia Secretary of State's firewall, " before the investigation found the alleged attack to be a routine traffic from a federal employee checking the state firearms license database.

The two parties were also tangling in several crucial governors' races, including in Midwest battleground states such as Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa and MI.

"It's a complete and utter fabrication", she said. Before any of that became public, Kemp's state office declared Sunday that it was investigating Georgia Democrats.

Last year Regal Monarch, which fell in race four on Melbourne Cup day, was euthanased after being injured during the race. The Melbourne Cup and America's Kentucky Derby have long eluded Sheikh Mohammed. "This is all down to Sheikh Mohammad".

The same poll also shows 52% of Georgia voters approve of President Trump's job performance with 43% disapproving of the Commander-in-Chief.

Kemp, who is Georgia's current secretary of state, had attempted to purge thousands of voters from the state's rolls if there wasn't an "exact match" between an individual's information on voter applications and on state databases. And we know what to do about that: vote. And I don't even want you to vote for us just because we're Democrats. Kemp was clearly afraid that his racist voter suppression tactics may not seal the deal for him, which is why his latest fear-mongering tactic was so laughable.

Already a historic matchup, with Abrams trying to become the first black woman elected governor in USA history, it has morphed in recent weeks from a battle of clear ideological differences into a racially charged argument over ballot access and voter fraud.
