Trump Confident of Fair Trade Deal with China

WASHINGTON, Nov 2 - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that a lot of progress had been made with China on trade, and he predicted the world's two largest economies would reach a very good deal.

Thursday's meeting was the first telephone conversation between the leaders in six months of which is openly reported. "As the president said, we would like to talk to them about it, but they may not be ready".

"It is possible some good positive things could - I say could - come out of President Trump-President Xi talks".

Trump said he will have dinner with President Xi Jinping of China at the November 30-Dec.
