A company official says a second person is dead after part of an Amazon distribution warehouse collapsed amid severe weather in Baltimore.

Clark said the body of a second person was pulled from the rubble around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

Chief Roman Clark told the media that a 50-foot wall collapsed at the Amazon Fulfillment Center after a storm hit the area.

That's how an Amazon employee describes to WBAL what happened Friday night at one of the company's fulfillment centers in southeast Baltimore after the building partially collapsed.

The first person was recovered on Friday night and pronounced dead upon being taken to hospital, while another remained missing. That caused concrete panels along a 50-foot (15-meter) section of wall to collapse.

Amazon closed the entire building following the wall collapse. We are working with emergency responders to assess the damage and we are thankful for their quick response this evening.

Images taken from outside the facility showed a badly damaged truck and a knocked-over light pole, the Sun reported.

A Baltimore Fire Department spokesperson also told WMAR that the storm had made the roof fall into the facility.

"A squall line moved through the Baltimore area late Friday with locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds", said weather.com meteorologist Linda Lam. "Winds gusts of 30 to 40 miles per hour were measured in the area".
