Trump Can Message You Directly On FEMA Alert System To Be Tested Next Week

Nationwide warning system test scheduled for next week, officials want Alaska feedback

Most cell phones capable of connecting to the internet will display a "Presidential Alert" at 2:18 p.m. EDT on September 20, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced this week.

The messages will bear the headline "Presidential Alert", the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said in a statement this week.

If you can't remember this happening before-you're correct.

Compatible cellphones, which include those from every major carrier, will receive a message that reads "Presidential Alert" and "THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System". The well-worn emergency alert system reaches mainly radio and television broadcasters, cable systems, satellite radio and television providers. "No action is needed".

This will be the first time WEA has ever been tested and will be followed by a test of the national Emergency Alert System which has only been tested three times before.

Perhaps opposing teams are being more careful defending Delle Donne, because when she does get to the line, she's automatic. Stewart, the MVP, and Loyd carried the scoring for much of the season, combining for almost 40 points per game.

"Users may opt of receiving alerts in the imminent threat and AMBER categories but can not opt out of receiving Presidential alerts", FEMA said.

FEMA will begin testing its WEA system at 2:18 p.m. ET to assess its "operational readiness" and make improvements if need be, the agency said in a press release this week.

Donald Trump may be texting your cell phone next week and it won't be to send a political message or bash his adversaries.

The system is normally used to send out an Amber Alert or a severe weather event on your phone.

Twitter users were quick to respond to the news, with one writing: 'Can I block him?'

FEMA is also tasked with ensuring that the President can alert the public under all conditions in cases of national emergencies, including natural disasters and terrorist threats.

"If you separate this from the politics and personality of any individual president then this is a great idea and an incredible use of technology to reach everybody if they're in harms way", said Karen North, director of the Annenberg Digital Social Media program at the University of Southern California.

According to Jeremy Zidek, spokesperson for DHS&EM, this will be the first time that a nation-wide WEA message will be distributed.

FEMA officials told CNN on Saturday morning it is still planning to conduct the test this week.
