SpaceX books private passenger flight around the Moon

SpaceX has signed up its first passenger for a trip around the moon

Why it matters: One lucky passenger, presumably of Japanese descent, will board SpaceX's BFR launch vehicle for an unforgettable trip around the Moon.

SpaceX said late Thursday it had signed the world's first private passenger to fly around the Moon. The tweet sent the internet ablaze with rumors who the passenger might be.

SpaceX has always been public about their dream of sending private citizens to space.

If all goes well, this unnamed passenger will be the first person to visit the moon since NASA's Apollo mission in 1972.

Young and Beautiful Paul Manafort Has Flipped
Mark Warner, the vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said Friday that "any attempt by the President to pardon Mr. Manafort or otherwise interfere in this investigation would be a gross abuse of power and require immediate action by Congress".

SpaceX is a key commercial partner to NASA, and is working on a crew ship that will make its first flight to the orbiting International Space Station next year, restoring access to space from United States soil for the first time since 2011, when the space shuttle program was retired after 30 years. "And they're very serious about it".

"I feel fairly confident that we can complete the ship and launch in about five years", Musk said.

Musk responded to questions from Twitter users following the announcement, saying that the rocket is still in development and has been "intentionally" created to resemble one seen in a classic comic book series, "The Adventures of Tintin".

In June this year, it was reported the mission had been postponed until 2019 at the earliest.

FCC says it needs more time to review Sprint, T-Mobile merger
T-Mobile and Sprint have "extended" a network engineering model that was originally submitted as a backup plan. It will take time to evaluate, understand the relationships between, and prepare responses to these models.

The company has stated that more details about the event's activities will be announced closer to the event itself and that it would last for about an hour-and-a-half (from 5:30 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. PDT).

However the passengers were never named and the flight has yet to materialise. The BFR planned for use in the trip, is still in development.

"SpaceX will probably build 30 to 40 rocket cores for 300 missions over five years".

Musk announced the BFR in 2017 and has since gone on to state that it could be used for a wide array of purposes.
