That said, it's not all rosy: One of the biggest disappointments about the proposed online play of the Switch was that the only way to get voice chat going was apparently via the dubious Switch Online app. Native voice chat was incorporated into the port of Fortnite, so we know it's at least possible with the Switch. There are options for both individual and family memberships (up to 8 users). A seven-day free trial will be available for all Nintendo Account holders. Nintendo Switch Online, as it's called, will be launching on September 18, and beginning on that date, you'll need to pay a subscription fee in order to play games online.
