Swamy: Undeniable fact that Mallya told Jaitley he was leaving for London

Appearing before London court Vijay Mallya on Wednesday said he had met Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to settle matters before leaving India

IDBI officials knew of losses at Kingfisher, claims Mallya's lawyer

Dismissing the claims made by him, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, in a Facebook post, said, "The statement is factually false in as much as it does not reflect the truth". "I did not have any formal meeting scheduled with him". He paced up to catch up with me and while walking uttered a sentence that "I am making an offer of settlement".

A defiant Vijay Mallya, who is facing money laundering charges in multi-crore fraud case in India, on Wednesday claimed that he met the finance minister before leaving the country.

Terming Mallya's offer to settle overdue loans of more than Rs 9,000 crore to his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines as "bluff offers", Jaitley said he did not even take the papers the liquor baron was carrying during that brief encounter.

"Today we have a categorical assertion by Mallya about the number of times he met the finance minister to have some resolution of his dues with banks".

Mallya's defence team has deposed a series of expert witnesses to claim he had no "fraudulent" intentions and that he is unlikely to get a fair trial in India. Congress demanded explanation from government on how Mallya was allowed to leave the country.

Miners Unearth $10 Million In Gold From a Single Blast
RNC Minerals chief executive Mark Selby said the largest rocks would go to auction as collector items. The bigger of the two is said to be valued at $3.8 million and contains around 2,300 ounces of gold.

His lawyer, Clare Montgomery, told London's Westminster Magistrates Court that the Indian government had failed to provide any substantial evidence to justify extraditing him.

Mark Summers, representing India, said that there was a clear case against Mallya and that what Kingfisher "internally knew was radically different" to what was being told to banks regarding the company's status.

Congress chief Rahul Gandhi tweeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi should immediately order an independent probe into Vijay Mallya's "extremely serious allegations" and Arun Jaitley should step down while the investigation will be carried out.

He said the phrase used by Mallya that "I met the finance minister" does not suggest a passing and casual meeting inside Rajya Sabha.

"I happened to meet Mr Jaitley in Parliament and told him that I am leaving for London..."

"I am a political football..." I feel like a scapegoat.

In an 8-minute long video accessed exclusively by News18, pictures of barrack number 12 of Arthur Road jail in Mumbai were leaked.

It is known news that Vijay Mallya, is wanted on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to around Rs. 9,000 crore. As far as I am concerned, I have made a comprehensive settlement offer before the Karnataka High Court.

Mallya has been out on bail on the extradition warrant since his arrest in United Kingdom last April.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), arguing on behalf of the Indian government, countered this with arguments that Mallya had intended "from the outset" never to repay the loans he sought for his struggling airline and misrepresented its profitability.
