PETA, the campaign group for the ethical treatment of animals, welcomed Burberry's move to stop using fur, which it said was a sign of the times.

The announcement came after an earnings report sparked outrage in July when it revealed that the brand destroyed unsold clothes, accessories and cosmetic products worth nearly €32 million in 2017.

"Modern luxury means being socially and environmentally responsible", said CEO Marco Gobbetti, who is taking Burberry more upmarket.

Luxury fashion house Burberry has announced that it will stop burning unsold stock and selling real fur.

The company has made only limited use of real fur in recent years with clothing incorporating fur from rabbit, fox, mink and Asiatic racoon.

Cardi B and Nicki Minaj Get into Fashion Week Altercation
Per their sources, Cardi lunged at Nicki before security had to break them up but not before Cardi tossed her shoe at the table. While leaving the party, she was pictured barefoot, missing both her shoes and with a huge lump on her forehead.

Fashion firms including Burberry destroy unwanted items to prevent them being stolen or sold cheaply.

These, and Angora, will now be banned.

The company, whose brand ambassadors have included actress and model Cara Delevingne and former Doctor Who Matt Smith, now says it will reuse, repair, donate or recycle all unsaleable products.

"This belief is core to us at Burberry and key to our long-term success".

"At Burberry, we are passionate about driving positive change".

Priyanka Chopra Hangs out With Nick, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner
Meanwhile, Serena Williams entered the semi-finals of the women's singles even of the US Open for the tenth successive year. The former beauty queen, who dated Nick for two years until 2015, told E! she was happy for her old flame.

The practice is widespread in the luxury-goods industry as brands seek to maintain their exclusivity by keeping unwanted products from ending up in discount outlets.

This great news comes after over a decade of campaigning by PETA and our worldwide affiliates against Burberry's use of fur, including holding dozens of protests outside its stores around the world, sending tens of thousands of e-mails, distributing countless leaflets and posters, and even becoming a company shareholder in order to attend its annual shareholder meeting back in 2007.

The retailer has started a partnership with sustainable luxury company Elvis & Kresse in the past year that will see 120 tonnes of leather off-cuts transformed into new products over the next five years.

It added that there would be no real fur in Riccardo Tisci's debut collection revealed later in September.

London Fashion Week is just around the corner, and even though the vast majority of fashion houses now have strict no-fur policies and Britain introduced a ban on fur farming almost 20 years ago, a small number of brands will shamefully still be showcasing fur on the catwalks - a move made possible by the British Fashion Council's (BFC) inaction on this important issue.
