Crazy Rich Asians Sequel Film in Early Development

The film will be based on Kevin Kwan's second film in a trilogy of novels, "China Rich Girlfriend".

The creative team behind Warner Bros' "Crazy Rich Asians" has confirmed plans for a sequel to the breakout romantic comedy.

Singapore's Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said Kwan, who moved to the USA when he was 11, skipped National Service (NS) decades ago and as he remains a Singaporean citizen, faces a three-year jail term and a US$7,300 fine for the offence, Straits Times reported.

"Mr. Kwan has committed offences under the Enlistment Act, and is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment of up to 3 years upon conviction", read the statement from Singapore's Ministry of Defense.

Jose Mourinho Ends 'Difficult Week' With Bizarrely Brief Press Conference
His position has been under plenty of speculation this week off the back of Sunday's damaging display and defeat to Brighton. Pogba admitted his "attitude was not right enough" on the south coast, but Mourinho was distant when asked about it.

"He also stayed overseas without a valid exit permit".

Kwan, also credited as an executive producer of the film, attended the U.S. premiere but was conspicuously missing from Tuesday's red carpet event at Capitol Theatre. (FYI, Singapore requires all male nationals over 18 to undertake two years of national service either in the armed forces, police, or civil defence force).

This is the first film in a modern setting by a major Hollywood studio to feature a majority Asian cast since 1993's The Joy Luck Club.

In his bestselling book, an Asian-American woman experiences culture shock when she meets her boyfriend's wealthy family in Singapore.

Breach exposed details of 2 million T-Mobile US customers
T-Mobile said the hacker (or hackers) did not gain access to passwords, social security numbers, or any financial information. The breach was discovered on August 20 by T-Mobile's cyber-security team and shut down, but not before the damage was done.

The film has been a hit in the United States, taking $26.5m (£21m) at the domestic box office over its opening weekend.

The government also said that Kwan attempted to renounce his citizenship in 1994, but the authorities rejected his application because he didn't serve the mandatory time in the military.

Kwan has not yet responded to request for comment.
