Martin Truex willing to take half the blame for a crash that he had no control over whatsoever.

Truex, who slammed his equipment down and kicked his vehicle after he got out, initially told NBC Sports, "Sometimes you're the nice guy and you get knocked out of the way". "Usually we race great together all the time".

But he acknowledged the contact boiled down to Bristol racing.

"The auto bottomed out somewhat there in the first lap, so I'm not sure what happened", Dixon said. If you were to ask me what Bristol race stands out, I couldn't tell you. The corner exit's really slick where the VHT wore out; there some real slick patches. "And today I wasn't even pushing that hard, I was just trying to maintain and not get hit, and I ended up sliding up the racetrack and spinning myself out".

"I love racing here", Larson said Thursday at Bristol Motor Speedway. "Probably could've shown a little bit more patience". "I dug it ideal right into turn one and two and the spotter said, 'Take it. Take it.' Which meant go to the wall on exit and I didn't even bother to look in the mirror". Half his fault, half my fault for following (leader Clint Bowyer) so long.

Taliban rockets hit near presidential palace in Kabul; no injuries
Kabul police spokesperson Hashmat Stanikzai said police believe at least four militants are involved in the assault. Police said the fighting began around 9:00 am, after multiple rockets struck in at least two areas of Kabul .

"I should've knocked (Bowyer's) butt out of the way because he held me up for 15-20 laps and burnt my front tires off screwing with him", Truex said.

That leads to all kinds of foolishness like drivers intentionally slowing down to a near stop at the end of pit road trying to get in the right line on a restart, something that nearly caused a multi-vehicle wreck Friday at Bristol during the XFINITY Series race.

"That was just a misjudgment on my behalf", Busch said. Incidents between the two are few, and Truex took the blame a year ago for wrecking the two of them at Indianapolis while racing for the lead.

"It just wasn't meant for us this weekend, I guess", Busch said. "It's like just one thing after another". All told, the auto has sustained damage in 17 of 22 races and has finished on the lead lap just seven times.

Truex was second with Busch close behind in third when Busch closed onto Truex's bumper.

Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge and Stephanie Pratt at MTV VMAs
At the MTV VMAs on Monday night, cast members Audrina, Heidi, Stephanie and Spencer confirmed that they will star in the new series.

"The vehicle was really good yesterday and it got in the wall, and three laps later it had a flat tire", Busch said.

Kyle Busch was racing to the inside of Ryan Blaney's No. 12 vehicle before losing control coming off turn 4. He knows that wasn't intentional at all.

Saying Truex and his crew chief Cole Pearn are "really cool", Busch doesn't believe he'll have to do any damage control - although he did say he might send a cake to the Furniture Row Racing shop in Colorado for the team members having to work extra time because of the wrecked vehicle. If NASCAR likes what it sees, it could then implement it for the Cup Series for the 2020 season, and the most vocal drivers would at least have the knowledge that it's being taken seriously. He crashed out of Friday night's Xfinity Series race in his final start of the season in the series.

Kyle Larson is starting from the pole Saturday night in the Cup race at Bristol in his bid to cap his first successful weekend on NASCAR's.0533-mile concrete oval. Right now, there are six short track races on the Cup Series schedule.

"It's unfortunate", said Truex. There are logistical considerations to factor in, and even though technology could help overcome those - seriously, we can't be that far away from drivers just being able to push a button on their dashes to pick a lane, and the TV networks could be linked in to communicate the selections to the fans instantly - not many people like the idea of anything that would add even an extra lap or two to every caution. "We had good restarts when we had to, and then you've got to get clever and throw everything at it". We're sitting in the position to have a shot at winning here again, and it sucks to keep coming here and working so hard, trying so hard, and my guys put so much into it, and stuff like that happens.
