After rain and strong winds ended up damaging the band's equipment and stage, The Backstreets Boys had no choice but to cancel their WinStar World Casino and Resort concert in Thackerville, Oklahoma.

The venue hosting the concert, WinStar World Casino and Resort, said in a statement that it had asked its patrons to seek shelter from the storm at about 1700 local time (2200 GMT) on Saturday after lightning was spotted within four miles of the site.

'At approximately 5:30 p.m., the storm hit and knocked over the concert entrance trusses with 70-80 mile an hour winds and heavy rain.
