All of the pre-match coverage for the seasons opening game was exclusively focused on Manchester United and their bizarrely underwhelming transfer window.

Paul Pogba scored the opener, and a late goal from Luke Shaw proved to be the difference as Jamie Vardy's added-time strike cut United's lead in half.

Pogba was surprisingly named as a starter by Jose Mourinho, having only returned to training last week. Paul, he was fantastic his contribution was wonderful, but the fuel was disappearing every minute so we were in trouble and I needed [Marouane] Fellaini and [Scott] McTominay to give me that balance in midfield.

"Pogba was a monster", said Mourinho.

That figure could still be reduced if players are sold to overseas clubs, and Bridge continued: "It leaves you thinking 'where does it go in the next three weeks?'".

Despite the rumoured transfer conflict between Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba, Mourinho handed the captaincy to Pogba, and the French midfielder delivered in style.

"The thinking was that he is a very good penalty taker and he likes the responsibility of it and he's the first choice", Mourinho said, via the Mirror. "I had my plans for many months and I find myself with the market closed in a situation I did not think I would be in".

"I don't remember in my career to be in so much in trouble to make my changes because I wanted to make five or six and I could only make three".

Pogba only returned to training four days ago from an extended holiday after France won the World Cup in Russian Federation in July.

Lee from downtown park, quickly deteriorated into clashes, prompting officials to declare the event illegal. James Fields Jr., 21, of Maumee, Ohio, is charged with murder in Heyer's killing under Virginia state law.

United have denied that happened and the same outlet said that Mino Raiola, the player's agent, had even struck a deal with Barcelona - the kind of interest that the club have vowed to reject. Following a strong World Cup, the Red Devils will lean on Paul Pogba to display his incredible talent.

"In the Premier League, we must get used to playing teams with the same quality we have", Mourinho told Sky Sports. "[Kasper] Schmeichel is very good on penalties but no chance".

"We thought maximum 60 minutes but he managed (more than) 80".

"It was very exciting to watch for the first 20 or 25 minutes but, when they took their foot off the gas, Leicester came right back into the game".

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere , you should be able to spot the meteors in the northeastern sky. The name comes from fact that the meteors appear to shoot out from the Perseus constellation.

"It was not a hard decision [to start Pogba], the decision was down to him". "We will have the same players, the injured players are not going to be back", said Mourinho.
