The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) said on Twitter that it had rescued more than 3,000 people from the Gili Islands by Monday evening and many more were yet to be evacuated.

In a statement to Radar, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in NYC said they are "investigating" the discovery. After arriving in NY late Monday, the plane had been parked in a hangar overnight, and the fetus went undiscovered.
Aid organisations, already on Lombok after last week's quake, said they were stepping up their humanitarian efforts.
Close to 3,000 were picked up and more vessels are scheduled to pick up the remaining survivors today.
"We were sitting there having dinner at about 7 o'clock last night, we just felt a really big sort of shaking and the lights went off and everyone just ran", Australian tourist Kim Liebelt said as he waited with other travelers for a flight out at Lombok's worldwide airport.
Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) chairman Ketut Ardana said SITA had provided free transportation to help the evacuees arrive at their next destinations.
"We stood still when we first felt the natural disaster, but the sway grew stronger so we tried to run before the mosque collapsed", Muhammad, a worshipper who managed to escape, told the Metro TV.
