Scientists claim that Earth’s Moon may have once supported life

There might once have been life on... the Moon? Yes, say researchers

Pakistan to witness century’s longest lunar eclipse on July 27-28

A rare celestial shadow play of total lunar eclipse which will be of the longest duration for the 21st century can be witnessed on Friday. The Earth's shadow will cover the moon for an hour and 43 minutes. A lunar eclipse is when the earth gets between the sun and the full moon.

"Sometimes, the moon passes through the lighter part of Earth's shadow, causing a penumbral eclipse and total eclipse occur when the Earth completely block Sun rays from reaching the moon", he said. The Moon will disappear into the Earth's darkest shadow known as Umbra, he said. Sunlight filtered through the earth's atmosphere hits the moon and turns it a deep red.

The next total lunar eclipse visible from Prague will be January 21, 2019.

"Red light had a better chance of doing so for the same reason the sky was blue - shorter wavelengths were scattered more efficiently by the molecules in our atmosphere".

Mars will be at its closest point to Earth on July 31. "Astrology is not something we follow".

Florida's Watkins suspended from team activities
Included in the four charges are two third-degree felonies; false imprisonment/kidnapping and domestic battery by strangulation. Watkins, a former four-star prospect out of East Ridge High in Clermont, enrolled at Florida in June for the Summer B semester.

The next total lunar eclipse in the United Kingdom will take place on January 19, 2019. A partial lunar eclipse will take place July 16, 2019.

"Our event is sold out, we have about a couple of hundred people that are booked in to come and watch it with us", said Andrew Jacob, curator at the Sydney Observatory, located right near the Harbour Bridge. That activity could have created an even more dense atmosphere with more water on the lunar surface, the study says.

Historically, blood red moons were seen as omen for bad events with their deep red colour.

The eclipse will dazzle viewers on the evening of 27 July and morning of 28 July.

If you saw the most recent solar eclipse (full or partial), you'll remember that the circle of light looks colorless.

Yankees fans are freaking out over Aaron Judge's wrist injury
Judge remained in the game and had another at-bat before manager Aaron Boone took him out of the game in the fourth inning. The only thing we know for certain is that the Yankees' postseason hopes likely hinge on the results of the MRI.

Going forward, however, there will not be another total lunar eclipse longer than Friday's event until 2123, weather information website theweathernetwork.com said. The planet witnessed the longest eclipse of the previous century on July 16, 2000, lasting for 1 hour, 46 minutes and 24 seconds.

Stargazers may be looking up at the skies in awe, but years ago the moon's ochre orange colour was considered to be a bad omen that instilled fear and panic until the scientific explanation of how lunar eclipses occurred was finally understood.

It will also be visible from elsewhere in Africa and Asia and parts of Europe, although no one in North America will be able to see it because the continent will still be in daylight when it happens. That's quite a rare phenomenon.

With a clear sky, it is best to view the blood moon in coastal areas with a clear view of the moon setting in the west.

Unlike a solar eclipse, both the eclipsed moon and Mars can be viewed safely without eye protection.
