FDA: Retailers cannot legally sell Kellogg's Honey Smacks cereal following recall

Salmonella Linked to Honey Smacks Sickens 100 People in Outbreak; 6 Cases in California

Back in mid-June the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a bulletin warning consumers that Kellogg's Honey Smacks cereal could potentially be contaminated with Salmonella.

The recall issued by Kellogg's remains unchanged, and affects both the large and small box sizes of Honey Smacks cereal with best-if-used-by dates between June 14th, 2018 and June 14th, 2019. "The FDA has learned that some retailers are still selling this product". Those symptoms can last between four and seven days, and such illnesses send about 23,000 people to the hospital every year, according to the CDC.
