Samsung jumped the gun with the original Galaxy Tab which simply ran Android as designed for phones before Google brought out a tablet specific version of Android with Honeycomb...which was awful. While initial models of the device were Wi-Fi only, an HSPA+ variant of the tablet with 32GB of onboard storage became available in October that same year.

In case Google does stop supporting Android tablets, there's still hope for people who like big screen devices.

The tablet section on the official Android website suddenly vanished, prompting speculation that Google is done selling tablets.

While Google will not be selling any more of its tablets, Samsung tablets still exist.

Google has been hard at work making Android apps work on Chrome OS. Lockheimer says that a bug messed things up a bit when updating the Android website, causing the tablet section to vanish, but the company quickly addressed the issue and the page went back up on Saturday evening.
